Terms of use

These terms govern your use of hflash.co.uk. By reading, sharing or otherwise using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. Nothing in these terms removes any right you have as a consumer under UK law.

Using the site

You may read our journalism, share links to it, and quote short extracts with attribution and a link back to the original article. You may not republish whole articles, systematically scrape the site, resell our content, or use automated tools that place an unreasonable load on our servers. You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or to interfere with its operation.

Intellectual property

All articles, photographs, illustrations, graphics and page designs on HFlash are protected by copyright and remain the property of HFlash or of the contributors and agencies who licensed them to us. The HFlash name and logo are our trade marks. Requests to reproduce material beyond short quotation should be sent through our contact page.

Accuracy and the nature of news

We work hard to publish accurate journalism and we correct errors openly under our corrections policy. News is nonetheless published under time pressure and describes situations that change. Articles reflect our understanding at the time of publication and are not warranted to remain accurate afterwards. Dates of publication and update are shown on every article so that you can judge how current it is.

Not professional advice

Our business, technology, health, travel and consumer coverage is general information and journalism, not professional advice. It is not financial advice, legal advice, medical advice or a recommendation to buy or sell anything. Decisions about money, health, law or safety should be taken with a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.

Third party links

We link to outside sources so that readers can verify what we report. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement.

Reader contributions

Where the site allows comments or submissions, you are responsible for what you post. You must not post material that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, obscene, infringing or misleading, and you grant us a non exclusive licence to publish, edit and archive what you submit. We may remove any contribution and may withdraw access from anyone who abuses these rules.

Advertising and sponsored content

Paid content is labelled. We are not a party to any transaction you enter into with an advertiser, and any dispute over a product or service you buy after seeing an advertisement is between you and that advertiser. Our commercial rules are set out on the advertise with us page.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site, including loss of profit, business or data. Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site, and we may amend these terms. The current version always appears on this page. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
